Evaluation: Issues
Besides doing very specific evaluations of the content and technical aspects of the website, it's important to ask the "big picture questions" about the website and whether it is meeting it's goals.
Use the following questions to start your exploration:
- Does the website meet the needs of the users?
- Does the website reflect the mission and goals of the school or library?
- Does the website represent the program, school, and/or library system in a postive way?
- Does the amount of use (i.e., traffic) of the website justify the money, time, and resources spent?
- Does the website adhere to guidelines and laws such as copyright, use of photos, and citing sources?
- Is the website up-to-date, reliable, accurate, and constantly evolving?
