Once you've done some research, you're ready to begin planning your website. However before jumping into the technical aspects and web design, you need to develop a strategy. How will you approach the planning process? Who will be involved?

What's the "big picture" in terms of the information architecture? For example, top-down and bottom-up are the two main approaches to building information architectures. In many cases these two approaches are interwoven and occur simultaneously.
