Stress
 

The strain of battle created many stresses for Charley. Both during and after the Civil War.

Task

  • List some of the physical and mental stresses Charley had during the war and describe the stresses Charley had after the war.
  • Compare and contrast your own stresses with those Charley had during and after the Civil War.

Process and Resources

  • Write a numbered list of physical and mental stresses Charley had during the Civil War.
    • Identify if the stress is physical or mental.

Project Guidelines

Use the following guidelines for completing your project:

  • The project should be typed and in paragraph form, except for the list of Charley's stresses during the Civil War.
  • Evaluation = 100 points
    • Typing = 20
      • 0-3 errors = 20
      • 4-6 errors = 15
      • 7-9 errors = 10
      • 10 + errors = 0
    • List of stresses during the war (must identify if physical or mental) = 20
      • 10 + = 20
      • 7-9 = 15
      • 4-6 = 10
      • 1-3 = 5
    • Description of Charley's post-war stresses = 30
      • Identify if physical or mental, uses own words, and specific = 30
      • Uses 2 of the 3 listed above = 20
      • Uses 1 of the 3 listed above = 10
    • Compare/contrast stresses = 30
      • Uses 3-6, is specific, and uses examples from the reading = 30
      • Uses 2 of the 3 listed above = 20
      • Uses 1 of the 3 listed above = 10

Conclusion

  • The students will get into groups of three and discuss how their own stresses compared or contrasted with Charley's
