The Internet is a great tool for accessing
information about award winning literature. You're familiar with the
popular awards, but there are many lesser known awards that can be
helpful in identifying good books. Awards
are given to quality children's, young adult, and adult books.
You can have lots of fun with awards. Students love the anticipation of a celebration. Consider a Mock Award Event. For example, each year Allen County Public Library hosts a Mock Caldecott, Newbery, and Sibert Award event where people read and select their favorites from a list of nominees.
