At first the business focused primarily on the development of print materials. Their first book, Strap on Your Spurs: Technology and Change Cowboy Style was plastic comb bound and printed at the local quick-print shop. Within a few years, several more titles were added to the inventory and the quality of the cover, paper, and printing improved.   The partnership became a corporation in 1997. The board of directors included Annette Lamb as President and Chair of the Board, Larry Johnson as Vice-President, William Smith as Secretary, and Nancy Smith as Treasurer.   As sales increased, thousands rather than hundreds of copies of each book were printed. The company became too large for the headquarters in Evansville, Indiana. An order and distribution center was opened in Emporia, Kansas. Nancy Smith became the office manager to oversee daily operations at that time. Other important functions were also outsourced. Financial functions are coordinated by William Smith. Brooke Johnson is our copy editor and Allison James is our data entry specialist. A corporate website and email address were established.   By 1998, four books were in second editions and a new color cover scheme was implemented. A domain name, eduscapes.com, was purchased and a website established to be used in promotion and market expansion. Today, over a dozen titles are in circulation and the website receives over a million hits per month! Nancy Smith Office Manager   If you call or send email to Vision to Action, you'll probably get a reply directly from Nancy. She handles the daily operation of the company including supervising all orders, shipping, and promotion.   Nancy graduated from Iowa State Teacher's College (University of Northern Iowa) in the early 1960s. Before coming to V2A, she was an elementary teacher, an at-home mom, library researcher, and the office manager of an accounting firm.   Nancy is also an active author. She co-authored Surfin' the Internet and is currently working on Newberys and the Net.   In her spare time (what's that?), she enjoys crafts, cross stitch, and genealogy. Brooke Johnson Copy Editor Our authors are far from perfect in the English department, so Brooke's role as our copy editor is important in our publishing process. She finds spelling errors, sentence fragments, and assorted other mistakes in the otherwise perfect (?) work of our V2A authors. Brooke has a BA from Eastern Illinois University and is completing her Master's Degree in English from Southern Illinois University. Allison James Data Entry Specialist   Allison works full-time at American Airlines, but moonlights for us as a data entry specialist. If you get a promotional flier in the mail, Allison probably entered your name and printed the mailing label.   Allison's BA in Psychology is from the University of Arizona.
