Students love to read and write adventures. These stories often involve honor, tradition, courage, determination and making choices. Explore resources for some of the following books.

Hatchet
Gary Paulsen
Gary Paulsen and Jim Hobbs are known for their high interest adventure books. Start with a book such as Hatchet by Gary Paulsen (Connecting Ideas). If students like this, try an adventure by Jim Hobbs such as Kokopelli's Flute by Will Hobbs.
 
Some students enjoy books about natural disasters. Try Earthquake Terror by Peg Kehret and Night of the Twister by Ivy Ruckman (Reading Unit).
