A Learning Environment for Inquiry
Within this information inquiry learning laboratory, elementary and secondary, artifacts of the process as well as the products are displayed.
Inquiry is illustrated on the wall as well as online for sharing, feedback, and modeling. Space is available for devising and testing information value, logic of arguments and acceptance or rejection of evidence.
The laboratory may include the library and classrooms - multiple spaces where student work can take place. It may also extend into the community to the public library, museums, local nature areas, and other facilities collaborating with students and educators. This laboratory space also extends to virtual environments such as online database services, collaborative writing environments, and cyber-mentoring activities.

The laboratory is always available for student information scientists who wish to return, often on an individual basis, to further their reading and investigations on problems that continue to interest them long after the academic assignment has been completed.
