Janette Fluharty has been a teacher for thirteen years, having taught for ten years in a general education classroom and now in her third year as the teacher librarian at Avon Intermediate School East in Avon, IN.

Janette holds a B.A., and a M.L.S. Her teaching experience ranges from first grade to fourth grade. While she loved being in the general education classroom, she feels she has found her niche as a teacher librarian as it’s the perfect combination of her passions: teaching, reading promotion, technology integration, and collaboration with peers.
Janette also serves on the AIME Board as representative for District 4 (Boone, Hamilton, Handcock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan, and Shelby Counties)
Biggest Surprise About Her Job: She LOVES 5th and 6th graders.
