Virginia Rankin retired after working 25 years as a teacher librarian. She now devotes her time to speaking, writing, and consulting. Most of her career was spent teaching middle school students; first in Hanover, NH and then at Odle Middle School, Bellevue, WA. Her focus and passion was the teaching of research as a thinking process. She developed the Pre-search Process and wrote The Thoughtful Researcher and numerous articles exploring different aspects related to research.
