Research Assistant

In the early 1990s, Ann Bevilacqua developed the first computer-based instruction to assist with the research process. The software tool helped guide students through the process of conducting research.

The ten steps in her process included:

  1. Understand assignment
  2. Select topic
  3. General reading on topic
  4. Formulate thesis
  5. Conduct library research
  6. Make an outline
  7. Write a first draft
  8. Get supporting materials for argument
  9. Review and revise
  10. Final form
