Research Assistant
In the early 1990s, Ann Bevilacqua developed the first computer-based instruction to assist with the research process. The software tool helped guide students through the process of conducting research.
The ten steps in her process included:
- Understand assignment
- Select topic
- General reading on topic
- Formulate thesis
- Conduct library research
- Make an outline
- Write a first draft
- Get supporting materials for argument
- Review and revise
- Final form
