Literature Circles

The literature circle is one form of emergent literacy instruction that encourages students to become information literate, independent learners, and socially responsible citizens. Sometimes referred to as reading circles, literature discussion groups, or book clubs, the term "literature circle" describe the specific and thoughtful discussion of literature that combines conversation with individual reponsibility, small group participation, and theme-related activities.
